A REASON TO SHOW UP.
Physical activity creates shared ground. Through the Warrior Training Plan and our signature events, we invite people to take a step, work toward a goal, and share the effort.

You don’t have to explain your entire story to deserve a place beside someone.
Awareness Warriors Foundation is a veteran-founded movement using physical activity, community, and purpose to combat depression and prevent suicide.
We bring people together to break isolation, build relationships, and remind one another: you never have to fight alone.
Join the Movement ↗WHY WE EXIST
A person can be surrounded by people and still feel alone.
The struggle isn’t always visible. Behind an ordinary day, someone may be carrying depression, disconnection, or the feeling that they don’t belong.
AWF exists to create opportunities for people to step out of isolation and into connection. A shared workout. A conversation. A challenge faced side by side. A reason to show up—and someone who is glad you did.
Our mission continues beyond the finish line. The relationships we build are the reason for the work.
HOW WE PUT THE MISSION INTO MOTION
“Depression Hates a Moving Target” is the belief that drives AWF. Movement gives us a place to begin. Community gives us people to stand beside. Purpose gives us something to contribute.
Physical activity creates shared ground. Through the Warrior Training Plan and our signature events, we invite people to take a step, work toward a goal, and share the effort.
Train With Purpose ↗Shared challenges give us opportunities to listen, encourage, and look out for one another. What begins as an activity can become a conversation, a relationship, and a reason to return.
Voices of the Movement ↗Everyone has something to contribute. Volunteer your time, welcome a newcomer, encourage someone through a difficult moment, or help make participation possible. Your presence matters.
Be the Lifeline ↗VETERAN-FOUNDED. OPEN TO EVERYONE.
Veterans. Service members. First responders. Families. Neighbors. You.
Our veteran-founded identity is part of who we are. Our invitation extends to the whole community.
You don’t need a particular background, a race result, or a story you’re ready to tell. You can come looking for connection, bring someone alongside you, or help create that connection for others.
We believe financial hardship shouldn’t stand between someone and community. Reducing barriers to participation is part of the movement we’re building.
WHAT WE STAND FOR
Every person brings a story. We lead with dignity, respect, and a welcoming place to begin.
We value the encouragement, trust, and connection built when people face challenges together.
We put the mission into practice through participation, service, and showing up for one another.
CONNECTION CAN BE A FIRST STEP
Community support and professional care can stand alongside each other.
AWF offers connection, movement, and shared purpose to complement clinical care. When you’re ready, our goal is to help you connect with appropriate agencies and resources for the support you need.
